![]() About Zakatify
![]() Muslims work hard to fulfill the obligation of zakat, the annual charitable giving that makes up one of the five pillars of Islam. Theoretically, the power of 2.5% of the collective wealth of Muslim communities could go a long way toward alleviating much of the pain and struggle we see around us. But the current inefficiency of zakat distribution, particularly in Muslim-minority countries, makes this possible impact all but invisible. We live in a digital, interconnected world, but the way we apply zakat has changed little. That’s why we created Zakatify, an easier and more meaningful way to do your zakat. Zakatify allows you to discover new zakat-eligible charities, create a personalized portfolio of your favorite charities, set a zakat goal and allow automatic distribution of funds, or make immediate donations to the causes you care most about. Zakatify is more than an app, it represents a charitable community that transforms the scope and spirit of zakat. Interaction between Zakatifiers both amplifies charitable giving as well as more efficiently distributing funds to a diverse set of charities both big and small. Zakatify shows you charities you might be interested in, allows you to interact with others to see what charities they support, and allows you to earn points for meeting your goals. There is a unique power and possibility in the institution of zakat, and we believe Zakatify can be key to unlocking it for the benefit of both Muslims and their neighbors. We invite you to join us on our journey to make the promise of zakat a reality. Updated 25 September 2018
